Hear For You gives an insight into the personal experiences of deaf people and how to cope in mainstream society. The professionals can give information related to the many complexities of hearing impairment and education, but cannot fully relate to growing up and living with deafness. The reason for this is simple: they have not experienced what it's like to be deaf. Our mentors, on the other hand, are hearing impaired and so have a wealth of personal experience to share.
Hear For You addresses the very important needs that young deaf people of all ages and degrees of hearing loss encounter. Our mentors can counteract the fear of what their future might be like. It will also help them accept that deafness is not a disadvantage - just a difference.
